Engine swap

I know my X-TRIAL cme with either a 200 or 250 cc engine and I have the more girly one. It was find until a feew weeks ago when did something stupid and ran it with no oil. Don't ask I don't want to talk about it. This means a new engine, but once I'm there can I install the 250cc engine hassle free or it's goonna be a pain in my ass?

Swapping it should be mostly straightforward if your frame and mounts are shared between the two variants which they often are on bikes like the x trial

Yeah, I know they should be, and based on what I've seen it's the same mounts, so that part is probably okay. I was looking for some tips and tricks to make the process go smoothly and not end up with me giving up on this thing

Oof, yeah running it dry never ends well—but hey, at least now you've got an excuse for an upgrade haha, might need minor tweaks like a different sprocket or rejetting the carb, but it shouldn't be a full on headache, worry less
