Fit Lifan engine for ‘93 CT110?

I'm helping my cousin build out his 1993 CT110 and he wants to swap in a Lifan engine, but I keep hearing about clearance issues and mods needed for the mounts and foot pegs. Is there a model that fits without grinding or drilling? We would love to avoid making brackets if possible. Thanks in advance for your help.

I've been through this before, most Lifan engines don't just fit into a CT110 without using an adapter plate. You usually have to adjust the mounts and foot pegs a bit as well. So far, I haven't come across any true drop-in options. Are you planning to keep it semi-auto, or are you thinking about switching to full manual with the swap?

Most Lifan engines require some mods for a 1993 CT110, especially around mounts and foot pegs, therers rarely a perfect bolt-on fit. That said, the Lifan 110cc small block is usually the easiest to adapt with jsut minimal grinding. Unfortunately, there isn't a model that fits perfectly without any work, so some minor adjustments are likey needed.

Nope, Lifan and similar Chinese clone engines are designed for the CT70 or Mini Trail 50 bolt pattern. Fitting one to a CT90 or CT110 isnt difficult, though. You can grab mounting brackets from Beatrice Cycle, or if youre handy, make your own. That's the easy part, the wiring is usually what takes the most time.
